CNBC Fails Pet Owners Everywhere

CNBC failed pet owners on Thursday night by not airing the documentary “Pet Food: A Dog’s Breakfast” like they stated they would in their press release dated 1/28/11. Instead they chose to air “the Facebook Obsession”. I tried to find out why it didn’t air and if they plan on rescheduling by contacting them via their website and their Facebook page. I have not gotten a response.

As I mentioned in my post last week, this documentary was produced over 3 years ago and aired in Canada back in 2008. Clearly CNBC is more concerned about protecting any current or future ad dollars from the likes of Proctor & Gamble, Nestle and Mars, rather than educating the public about the pet food industry.

If you would like to watch this documentary, I did manage to find a version of it online. The video quality is poor, but at least you’ll get to watch it. Here’s the link to the video: http://www.viddler.com/explore/jennifergoodwin/videos/4. UPDATE 2-20-12: This video is no longer available for viewing. At one point I found another version of it on Youtube, but even that version has since been removed.

Should I hear back from CNBC or learn anything more, I will be sure to pass it on to everyone. In the meantime, I encourage you to contact them as well, and voice your displeasure.
